Nella Keskisarja: Rauhankatu – Arabiankieliset katukyltit

Community art 2006, Nella Keskisarja together with Wisam Elfad and family and Joel Rosenberg and Maija Merimaa. We were investigating the history of the street names in Helsinki. We hand painted 7 street signs in Arabic, attached them to place and photographed the result. The street signs and written texts are our basic landscape just like lakes and forests before. We wanted to show how a small change in the text can make the familiar unknown for us and known for others.
