Artist’s Statement

In my artworks, I shed light on the relations between the environmental space and the human space. I form reality through light, space, material, order and participation. I combine my own experiences and perceptions of spaces with existentially essential questions like life and death, time and continuity.

My recent environmental or land-art projects and interactive social works contain conceptual interpretations of the current situation. I build new synthesis from the materials and resources of the places, where the aesthetic and conceptual meanings unite. I aim to introduce environment’s own ecological information to people’s everyday life and surrounding. The works are comprehensive visual and vocal sensations that stimulate all senses.

I locate my ephemeral, disappearing installations and permanent sculptures within the spiritual and historical context of the site in question. I select the materials and minimal acts that bring my own personal perspective to the space through a silent and focused thinking process. My site-specific sculptures and installations are homages for light, thinking and architecture.

The process is the key in my interactive, social works. The content and the ways of working derive from the resources of the participants. In the social processes, people of different ages and cultural backgrounds work on personal and current themes. This participatory happening aims at altering the thinking and the environment of the participants.
