Artist’s Statement
Best known as an artist with wide scale of visual work from theatre to photography. She has held several private and group exhibitions including video art. Full time filmmaker since 2010 after working as a web editor, journalist and youth worker for a decade.

Current information
The duo MÄKI-NEVALA–MOTTISENKANGAS was chosen to the biennale in Hämeenlinna Art Museum 14.6.–8.9.2024.The duo Soile Mottisenkangas ja Saija Mäki-Nevala filled up Yö Galleria with the tree channel video installation named PastureG28. Private exhibition was between September 21, and October 1, 2023, in Helsinki.
Short creative documentary film, Yötyön Zen, was released 2020. The latest film won the award Best experimental documentary, with Close:up Edinburgh Docufest in Scotland.
