Bio

KRISTIINA LEMPIÄINEN-TRZASKA (b. 1958) is a Finnish visual
artist. Lempiäinen-Trzaska holds an MA from the Department of Art,
Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland and an MA from the Department of
Creative Arts, Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. She
has been active as a visual artist since 1987.
Her current works include painting, drawing and installation reflecting
individual and intimate experiences of life and nature around her in past
and present. She looks a bit underneath and beyond the visible
surroundings focusing to the space in between, to landmarks of feelings
and to mental landscapes.
She is interested in how different places may reflect cultural experience as well as societal and philosophical constructs and where it all leads. She presents her understanding in a visual dialogue with urban environment and the untouchable nature.
