Leena Illukka works often deal with difficult subjects, but heart and humor will grow alongside the dark observations and visions expressed in her works. Her works offer the viewer the possibility to find new perspectives in society and the environment.

Bio

Leena Illukka is a Finnish artist working with sculptures and installations. She graduated as Bachelor of Fine Arts from Lahti University of Applied Sciences in 2011 and as Master of Culture and Arts from Saimaa University of Applied Sciences in 2015. She is living and working in Helsinki, Finland. Leena Illukka has had several private exhibitions and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. Her works can be found in the Finnish State Art Collection as well as in various collections abroad. In 2001 Illukka was awarded with the Era Art prize in Poland, Baltic Biennial of Weaver ́s Miniature, Museum of Gdynia. Her works often deal with difficult subjects, but heart and humor will grow alongside the dark observations and visions expressed in her works. Her works offer the viewer the possibility to find new perspectives in society and the environment.
