Artist’s Statement

In my paintings, I picture my personal experiences and things I have seen, in my surroundings. I live in the countryside by the lake Päijänne in the middle of nature, so my paintings are dealing with the landscape and details of nature: plants, insects, animals; all those everyday ordinally things I meet outdoors. It is important for me to really know the things I picture. When painting, my own inner world and many texts read and news seen come along. The content of the painting, in the end, is a symbiosis of all and expands from some particular landscape or detail to a shared experience.
